Hi there,

I have 2 sheets containing various employee data - one sheet named 'Employee data' contains the Employee Full Name (in column A) and the other sheet named 'Employee with Samsung' contains Employee Full Name (in column A) along with 'Device Details' (in column B of this sheet).
I need a formula to look up the Employee Name from 'Employee Data' sheet and match it to the Employee Full Name from 'Employee with Samsung' sheet and if it finds it to then retrieve the 'Device Details' from this sheet and populate it into the Device Details (column B) within the 'Employee Data' sheet.
I hope that makes sense...
Grateful for any assistance - thank you in advance

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
How about
Excel Formula:
=XLOOKUP(A2,'Employee with Samsung'!A$2:A$1000,'Employee with Samsung'!B$2:B$1000,"")

Thanks, Fluff. I have the same situation as the OP and I need help. However, I have Excel 2019 so I don't have the XLOOKUP function. Any other advice?

Thank you for the above Fluff but unfortunately it seems to be returning incorrect data?

In that case can you post some sample data that shows the problem.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB Add-in

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.
