Hi,

Not sure what / how to do this.

I need to lookup vehicle registration number + data as per below (below is what I have in one excel tab.

Date Van Reg Driver Name

23/10/2017 ABC 123 ?

The other tab contains these columns.

Date Driver Name Van Reg

23/10/2017 Rob Benson ABC 123

I need to use a vlookup (??) to be able to populate the driver name into the "driver name" blank column up top. The formula needs to look / match by date and by Van Reg in order to be able to work out if it's copying the correct driver name into the column up top.

Hope this makes sense.

Basically i can't get a vlookup to lookup both data and vag reg on a monday for example. If both Van Reg, Date match, then i want to copy the driver who used it that day into the column up top. Essentially there's two sets of data which makes it annoying.

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
Assuming data in Sheet2 columns A:C, headers in row 1, try this array formula in C2 of the first sheet

=INDEX(Sheet2!B$2:B$100,MATCH(1,IF(Sheet2!A$2:A$100=A2,IF(Sheet2!C$2:C$100=B2,1)),0))
Ctrl+Shift+Enter

Not quite.

One sheet called "Vans" has "Date/Driver/Van Reg" columns, the other sheet called "LineItems" has "Delivery Date/Van Reg".

The sheet which has the column (empty at this stage) is "LineItems" column "D" which is called "Driver Name". Thats the one im trying to populate.

Adjust the sheet names and ranges accordingly. And confirm the formula with Ctrl+Shift+Enter, not just Enter.

Hi Pedro

I've seen your Private Message. As a new user you are not able to receive PMs.

Anyway, all the questions, formulas, data sample etc should be put in the thread. Support by email is not recommended in this forum.
