Is there a possibility for vlookup function with the last attribute as "True" to return the error #N/A? If Yes, When can this happen? I used a formula with the last argument as true and got a #N/A. But am unable to explain this...Please help.

Sure,

If the lookup value is numeric, but the values in the lookup range are text (or the range is empty)
And Vice Versa

And if the vlookup finds it's match, but the resulting value in the desgnated column has #N/A

If all the values are numeric, and the lookup value is smaller than ALL of the numbers in the lookup range.
Same for text values, lookup value of A, but no values in the lookup range begin with A.
