i have a table with project I'd and name. In another form if I enter Project id in a text field, I want to display name in another text field. There is no relation ship project I'd table and main table. Thanks.

In

I would reomcdduisng .qa combo box for entering the Project ID. The combo box canalso load the name in an additional column. The Project name can then be display from the combo ox in another tetbox.

What you can also do is use two combo boxed both bound to the same field in the form's record soruce.. One selects by Project ID. The other by Project name. The will allow you to enter eiterh the project ID or Project name. The othe control will automatically update.
