Vlookup formula isn't working (and I don't know why.)

I'm a flight simulator pilot, (which will help to explain the nature of the spreadsheets when you see them.)

Anyway, I followed "Computergaga"'s tutorial on the web, which I found to be very good. However, even though I followed his instructions to the letter, it always returned a value of "N/A" even though both items were on both sheets, clear as day.

What I'm using VLOOKUP for is to determine if everything in Column "A" in Sheet one is also in Column "A" in Sheet 2. (which I reorganized, via panel.)

I'm using Windows 10
Excel 2010

Here's the Computergaga video.

I would have uploaded the workbook but I don't know how...

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Thanks for the quick reply. To be honest, it's a little over my head, without an explanation of the formula he's using.

Can I upload the workbook in question? How can you see what I've done?

with :
Code:
=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!$A$2:$B$41,1,0)),"Not found","")
see attached file

I did it bidirectionally, choose one :)

Thank you Sandy very much for running the formula bidirectionally.

(re your Sig;) I wish I knew what you knew :) Because of the high number of "Not Found's" (I was only expecting around 10 at the most, but nothing like what the formula returned.

I'm sure the same item is referred to differently on one or the other sheets. For example, "Overhead Panel" vs. Ovhd Pnl". So, I have to go through it line by line, sheet by sheet anyway.
