Good morning. This is my first post. I am charting 3 years of comparison data with just the yearly totals displayed on the charts. Is there a method for displaying the figures for each year's 4 quarters of supporting data when the user rests the cursor on the annual figure on the chart? I am familiar with tools such as "Comments" but I would need to manually load the quarterly data into the Comment. I am hoping there is a charting method that would be more efficient.

My objective is to allow the user to rest the cursor on the yearly total and see, in a pop-up or something like that, the Quarter 1 #, Quarter 2 # etc figures. I have the supporting quarterly data in the same chart as the yearly totals.

I am working on a MAC using Excel 2010 but have access to other versions too on a PC.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
