Hi,
I have a data set with y values ranging from -2 to 95. I would like to graph this data. How can I get the vertical axis to display 0,25,50,75,100 as the major units/gridlines, while showing the negative data point below the horizontal axis ? Perhaps with the minimum value of the vertical axis being -5.

I'm using Excel 2010

Thanks for your help

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.

Hi,
Not sure if understood correctly your query but why not setting the axis scale to MIN = -5 MAX = 100? Although you might not see accurately the values...

Thanks Cyrilbrd,

You hit the nail on the head with your last sentence: how do I set the axis scale to

MIN=-5

MAX = 100

And then have the axis scale display 0,25,50,75,100?

Supposed to be your chart should adjust it's Vertical Value Axis automatically, however, try click on said vertical axis (on the right most likely with numbers going from zero to a hundred.)
Then Select 'Format Axis'.
Now in a pop up window the scale should be on automatic, and it should detect your lowest and highest values...
You can 'override' this by 'forcing' the chart scale to a 'fixed' value.
If the range is from -20 to 100, you should see the variations on a Column Chart...
Does this make sense to you?

Thanks Cyrilbrd,
To keep this graph visually comparable with others, the axis labels should be 0,25,50,100. Setting the range down to -20 destroys that visual comparability. I'd like to avoid the white space that setting the minimum to -25 would create.

mmmh sorry, might not have a solution as -25 to 0 would indeed create a 'space' without data in the event that all integers in your range are positive...
