Version Control Software

Hello,

I know a bit about Excel, but not much about Access.

We are using Office 2010, and I have a programmer developing a fairly complicated database for us. He has requested some type of Version Control Software, but doesn't understand much about it himself.

Can anybody advise me on what I should be looking at? What works best, etc.

Version Control Software is totally separate from Excel or Access. We just started using Tortoise SVN. Seems pretty good, and its free.TortoiseSVN

The basic idea of Version Control (revision control) is to have a code librarian to check-in/checkout components and to track changes. It is often used when multiple developers are working on the same application. I find it is just as useful for a single developer.
