Hi all,
I have a number of workbooks (i.e. workbook 1,2,3) that are summarised in one workbook (i.e. workbook 4).
Workbooks 1,2,3 will need to be updated throughout time and they will also need to have other copies for scenario analysis.
My issue is with version control. When I update workbooks 1,2,3 and save-as them to 1a,2a,3a then the links in workbook 4 automatically update to reference 1a,2a,3a. However I would like to keep a view of what the outputs were before the updates i.e. create a file 4 and 4a (preferably without pasting as values).
Also when I create scenarios such as 1_high, 2_high, 3_high then the links in workbook 4 are overwritten. Again, I would like to keep a view of 4 vs 4_high
Is there any best practice in this area? Or a way of toggling on / off the auto updating of interworkbook links?
Hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance!
