Hi Everyone,

What is the difference between VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) and VB (Visual Basic). IS there a difference?

For instance, when we open up the Visual Basic Editor and start recording code, is that code called Visual Basic? I'm confused by this.

Thank you,
Rachel :-D :-D

VBA is a sub-set of VB. Namely Visual Basic for Applications, which includes additional instruction to deal with Office applications that have things like: Tables or documents that regular VB is missing. VBA has the ability to add References to additional libraries [dll's and the like] so the user can utilize normal VB cod if needed.

But for most users few if any additional References need to be added to work with most general coding problems. Going outside the application or using non standard tools requires additional References.

So both are part of the VB family, to use VB in an Office product, will require you to change the names of objects and modify their naming conventions though!
