VBA to Disable keyboard entry but allow Scanning entry from Motorola DS9808

Hello Everyone i am new here and have a question i cant seem to find a answer to. Ok so i have a spreadsheet that tracks labor for a company i work for and they have provided bar codes to employees for there badge ids but they also have bar codes for activities that they choose not to use and end up using the wrong code . So is there a way in vba to disable the keyboard but allow the scanner to work ? i Have read many posts on this and some say use a timeout function because the scanners input is so fast and its not humanly possible to type that quick. While others have said to use a function to look for a * in front of the input because my bar codes are like *250* to make them readable for our scanners. I apologize in advance if i broke any forum rules as i stated in the beginning i'm new to this but i know that this site has extremely smart vba programmers on it. Thank You in advance for any help you can provide

Hi,
shell("mode con=off") to disable keyboard.
shell("mode con=on") to enable.

If your code crashes a hard reboot will be required. No keyboard, no
ctl-alt-del.

No idea on the mouse.
