Hi all

Im having an issue when opening a file through a vba routine, when i open it manually (file open) it opens fine with no error messages other than the "automatic update of links has been disabled" which appears in the ribbon.

When i open it using "workbooks.open", I eventually get a Windows Security Message as follows:
"Windows Security, Connecting to x.y.z" requesting a username and password.

Is there any way to suppress this?

Thanks

Chris

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
so adding UpdateLinks:=0 after "workbooks.open filename" appears to get me past this issue. Would still be good to know how to suppress windows security just in case it rears its head anywhere else though.
