In order to subtract days from a date you need to use the DateAdd function while using negative days.

txtDate = Today
txtDate = DateAdd("d", -7, Date)
Debug.Print txtDate

Would give a date a week earlier from now.

Not sure if I understand correctly that get_date_cnv holds a date, but in that case:

get_date_cnv = DateAdd("d", -7, Date)
