I am using a GIS software called esri. I am hoping some one can help me write a script for sequential numbering. My friend told me it will have "dim" in it, but could not remember the exact formula...any ideas?
Thanks

Hi clayt101,

Your problem description is at best vague. Creating a number sequence is trivial. It's what you want to do with the numbers that complicates things.

ESRI GIS has its own data structure requirements and vba implementation, for which I suggest a web search along the lines of 'ESRI GIS VBA'. A good starting place might be: http://edn.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=codeExch.querySamples

Thanks, I will check out the link. Basically, I just need a script that will sequentially number the rows in my database, starting at "1".
