VBA reference active cell

Want to add a reference to the cellrange of the active cell. This code debugs...

ac = activecell.name

Maybe you mean

Dim ac As Range

Set ac = Range(ActiveCell.Address)

but I don't see the advantage of using ac over ActiveCell

If want just the Address then

Dim ac As String

ac = ActiveCell.Address
