Hi guys,

Any ideas why this doesnt work. I've used before, but ive added in UpdateLinks, which has stopped it. But it works if i dont have the password bit, so not sure why the combination is failing.

Workbooks.Open ("filepath.xls"), UpdateLinks:=False, , , "Password"

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
You need the same case in the macro - previously you had "Password", was the above a typo and you actually meant you type in 'Password' or do you mean 'password' (first letter not capitalised). If so, then the code would be:

Workbooks.Open "filepath.xls", UpdateLinks:=False, WriteReservePassword:="password"

Hi, no it was a type on here, it was lowercase on the file and lowercase on the code.

I hve taken a copy of the file and change the password to my name and now it works... bizarre.

Thanks for your help, wouldnt have sorted it without you.
