I have 2 sheets.
Sheet1: Lists transactions in a table
Sheet 2: List certain account codes.

Now I want to build a macro which:
Marks yellow all lines in sheet 1, which apply account listed in sheet2.

(Accounts are in both sheets listed in column A)

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
How about
Code:
Sub markMatch()

   Dim Ws1 As Worksheet
   Dim Ws2 As Worksheet
   Dim Cl As Range

   Set Ws1 = Sheets("Sheet1")
   Set Ws2 = Sheets("Sheet2")

   With CreateObject("scripting.dictionary")
      For Each Cl In Ws2.Range("A2", Ws2.Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp))
If Not .exists(Cl.Value) Then .Add Cl.Value, Nothing
      Next Cl
      For Each Cl In Ws1.Range("A2", Ws1.Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp))
         If .exists(Cl.Value) Then Cl.EntireRow.Interior.Color = vbYellow
      Next Cl
   End With

End Sub
