If I have a bunch of styles setup in a word document and want to add a "-" in front of a specific style, can a macro do it?

Hi,

If you want to add a - in front of all user defined styles you could use something like this:-

Code:
Sub RenameStyles()

Dim MyStyle As Style

For Each MyStyle In ActiveDocument.Styles

    If MyStyle.BuiltIn = False Then
        MyStyle.NameLocal = "-" & MyStyle.NameLocal
    End If

Next MyStyle

End Sub

Is that what you're after?

Thanks but that's not it.

If I have a style titled "FORMAT1" I want a Macro to find all those styles in the document and add a "-" in front of that paragraph where the style starts.

I don't want to rename the style -FORMAT1 I want to 'tick' each style on the document with that style.

Thanks! :)
