Hi All --

Merry XMAS and Happy New Year!

I am hoping that a VBA guru can help with this .....

I have tried for several days to find the VBA code for Excel 2010 that could be used in a macro to capture the button push on a standard Office ribbon button and then execute the macro. Maybe I'm just searching the wrong terms.

For example -- if I press "Refresh All" - I'd like to have Excel execute the button push and then run the macro steps I want -- for example insert the date and time that the button was pushed on a specific cell on the active tab.

I hope my explanation is clear - but if not - please ask.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
Hi! and thanks for your reply.

Just an example.

It is actually a commercial add-in, that creates its own tab. I'd like to leverage several of the buttons, have excel execute the button push and run a macro that grabs some additional data from a server that serves as a timestamp for when the data that was refreshed was actually pulled.

Thanks

Hi,

If it's a commercial add-in, then it might not be quite so simple.

Is there any documentation with the add-in?

Something else to check would be to see if you can view the VBA behind the add-in and possibly add the VBA required so that when the data is refreshed it carries out your requirements.

Out of interest what is the Add-In?

Regards
