Hi all,

I cannot get the proper VBA for the following: I want to get a timestamp date when a milestone is reached.
Example:
<TABLE style="WIDTH: 388pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=516><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 65pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3145" width=86><COL style="WIDTH: 107pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 5229" width=143><COL style="WIDTH: 88pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 4278" width=117><COL style="WIDTH: 70pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3401" width=93><COL style="WIDTH: 58pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 2816" width=77><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 29.25pt; mso-height-source: userset" height=39><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d8d8d8; WIDTH: 65pt; HEIGHT: 29.25pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl67 height=39 width=86>Milestones</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d8d8d8; WIDTH: 107pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl67 width=143>Milestone Completed</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d8d8d8; WIDTH: 88pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl67 width=117>Date Completed</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d8d8d8; WIDTH: 70pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl67 width=93>Projected </TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d8d8d8; WIDTH: 58pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl67 width=77>Actual </TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 30pt" height=40><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d8d8d8; WIDTH: 65pt; HEIGHT: 30pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl63 height=40 width=86></TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d8d8d8; WIDTH: 107pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl63 width=143>IF Statement: False/True for D=E</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d8d8d8; WIDTH: 88pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl63 width=117>Give Static Timestamp Date</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d8d8d8; WIDTH: 70pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl63 width=93>Static Value</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d8d8d8; WIDTH: 58pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl63 width=77>Result of Formula</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; HEIGHT: 15pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" height=20>Milestone A</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl66>FALSE</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8"></TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" align=right>12</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" align=right>5</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; HEIGHT: 15pt; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" height=20>Milestone B</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl66>TRUE</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" class=xl65 align=right>10-aug-10</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" align=right>9</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8" align=right>9</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

When E (formula) equals D (static), the milestone is complete (B=true) and a date should be given. I have figured out how to get a datestamp from B with the code below, but this only works when B is manually entered data. Since B is the result of a formula it does not work:
Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Not Intersect(Target, Range("B1:B10")) Is Nothing Then
    Range("C" & Target.Row).Value = Format(Date, "dd/mm/yy")
End If
End Sub

I think there are either two options:
  1. Make the statement above work with the formula that I have in B.
  2. Use VBA to compare D to E with some sort of IF statement, and give the datestamp when it is true?
Further, E cannot exceed D (by formula) and the number will never decrease once it is reached. So once a datestamp is given, there is no scenario in which is should be removed automatically.

Unfortunately I connot figure out either. Who can advise me? I'm on excel 2007.

Rigano

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
it will probably be better to use
Worksheet_Calculate event</pre>

Thank you for your answer, could someone explain how i would go about doing that? I've tried do look it up but I just cannot understand how the VBA code works and how to adjust it for my needs.

Thanks
