I wanted to make a suggestion that perhaps you've already talked about.

I'm noticing a a fair amount of threads in the Excel Questions forum relate to VBA. I think its fair to say that you've got a lot of beginning and intermediate users who haven't a clue what it is or any desire to learn it.

For those, its kind of a time waster as they do not understand (or are not interested in) the question nor can they provide the answer. From a forum usability standpoint, you've probably got a lot of clicks onto questions that are not of interest, not to mention wasted bandwidth costs.

Unfortunately, there is no way to know exactly if the question involves VBA until you make the click.

Have you considered creating a separate forum to handle only VBA questions?

Hello,

When the MrExcel.com forums were reinvented back in 2002, we did have a separate VBA forum. It didn't work...

The OPs posting questions had no idea how to approach their XL quandaries, they didn't know whether it was appropriate to use VBA or native functionality. We had post after post in the VBA forum where it made a lot more sense to use a Worksheet Function, and vice versa, etc...

It became an organizational nightmare, if you will. The wrong specialists were reviewing the wrong posts, posts had to be moved, etc...

So, we combined them so everyone could look at everything, and hope the OP would get their thread subject correct, so as to draw the attention of the appropriate individual to respond.

We've reorganized our forums a number of times since 2002. And while your input is appreciated, I don't see us splitting our Excel Questions Forum out again, based on our past experience. :)

You're welcome.

Your input is appreciated as we like to revisit how our Forums operate from time to time. :)
