Hi All,

I have a file which is essentially a record of projects (+150) e.g. project title, leader, start date etc., and there is a second sheet containing some formulas to calculate project value.
I'd like to be able to copy the calculations from sheet 2, and paste them as values on a specific row in sheet 1.

However, the pasted values need to be on the row of a particular project.
For example, if I was to calculate project value now, I want to copy values from A2, B2 and C2, and paste the values in columns E, F and G on the same row as "Project XYZ".

I own the file, so I can add a dropdown with the project title on the calculations sheet if that is required.
Any help would be appreciated, as I am totally out of ideas.

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
So the calculation of project value on sheet 2 is done for a specific project. When you have done the calculation for project XYZ, you then want to transfer it to the XYZ row on the 1st sheet.

  • Is a little macro OK to use?
  • Are A2, B2, C2 the correct output cells on sheet 2?
  • Are columns E, F and G the correct input cells on sheet1?
  • When you do the calculation, do you have the project name filled in in a certain cell in sheet 2? which cell? Or do you want to transfer it to the selected row in sheet1?
  • In which column on sheet1 can i find the project names?
