VBA Behavior when a Query is refreshed.

When I have a query running in the background in excel, and I am editing the code I have by entering the following text:

In the image above, I am adding text as "cannot go to 1" while a query is running in the background. However, as I am writing the text, there appears to have no spaces in between even though I enter the spaces when typing. I would have to go back and enter the spaces manually myself.

Clicking Design mode doesn't seem to change anything for me. However, when I turn Calculation mode to manual, then VBA behaves ok. the idea would be to be able to type in text in and have no issues with the spaces in the sentences in VBA while keeping Calc on.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.
