In chapter 1 & 2 it keeps on referring to a text file called, "invoice.txt".

QUESTION: where can I find this file, so I can follow along and do what the books says, instead of just reading it?

If you look at the end of the Introduction (last page before chapter 1), there is a link to the download files. Or you can register the book with the publisher for samples files and any errata as noted on the page before the Introductgion
