Hello everyone. Have a different type question here I believe.

What are the differences between VB and VBA? I know its Visual Basic and Visual Basic for applications.

My main question is that I am IT Manager/Sys Admin running a Windows 2003 AD environment. i've recently took up learning VB for script writing in my environment and also took up VBA for excel. One thing I've noticed, and probably for obvious reasons is that they are very very similar.

SO my question is, if you master one, is it almost like mastering both, but with slightly different exceptions?

Wasn't sure and thought i'd ask..
Thanks,

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
The similarities are bigger than the differences. VBA and VB6 use a very similar code base, and the basic differences are:

VB Forms are not the same as in VBA (different objects). Access and Excel also use different forms from each other.
VB projects can be compiled to an EXE -- VBA projects live inside the host application.
VBA comes loaded with an object model(s) specific to the application. Like VB, you can also create your own objects.
There are probably others as well...
