Variable Cleanup at End of Sub Routine, Function and Excel Itself

I dimension many variables in various subs and functions. What steps do I need to take to clear everything from memory upon completion of the function or subroutine? Also when I close the spreadsheet, is there a way to clean up anything I left messy. With Excel 2016, I just shut it down from time to time because the recalculation speeds GREATLY diminishes for no apparent reason from time to time (I have ample RAM).

for all practical purposes, non-object variables are cleared automatically when the procedure completes. It is the object variables and public variables that can cause problems. The link below discusses the issues.
