Validate dropdown with IF?

Hello,

I am trying to use a dropdown that is dependant on a first dropdown.
I would like a set of choices to be available depending on what the first menu choice was. Is it possible to use a drop down with "IF"?

for example: if the first dropdown has categories of groceries, like "dairy", "canned goods", "grains", I would like the second column's dropdown to have choices based on the one chosen, ex: dairy> milk, cheese, yogurt etc.
