Hey,

I'm attempting to construct a formula that will sum entries in a spreadsheet that are in the past. At the moment I've tried variations along the theme of:

Sumif(a3:a300, "<=today()", b3:b300)

Firstly, I don't understand why this doesn't work (I'm a pretty inexperienced excel user, however, so please excuse obvious flaws). Any critique along that line would be useful.

Secondly, I would appreciate having a formula that works and gives me the intended result so if anyone would be able to help me out with that I would be immensely grateful.

Thanks in advance.
