Hi all,

I have 379 sample identities in my Excel spreadsheet in A2:A380. I want to randomly assign a number from 1-5 to each of these.

Can anyone recommend the most appropriate way to do this?

Thanks!

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
I should add to this that I would ideally like the assignment of the number from 1-5 to be approximately even i.e. ~75 samples randomly allocated to 1, 75 samples to 2 etc
