Using text color in formula

I would like to use the text color in Excel formulas. I understand Excel doesn´t support this & we will have to use user defined functions (UDF). Is it true? If so, what is the solution? Does the experts in this forum know if Microsoft has any plans to make this basic functionality available? Please advise.
