Using sumif across multiple worksheets?

I'd like to perform a conditional sum across multiple worksheets. Variations on the following doesn't work: =SUMIF(First:Last!D7:D126,1, First:Last!D7:D126)
where first and last are the beginning and ending worksheets. Is there a way to make this or something similar work? (Excel 2010)

I don't think you can '3D sum' sheets without a little work around, take a look at this example.
