Using Slicers on Multiple PivotTables (workaround)

So creating the PivotTable connections under Slicer Tools is easy enough. The problem I am having is that my PivotTables pull data from an OLAP data source, and the pivot tables themselves are using Grouped fields.
Now, as Microsoft notes on one of their support sites, "Slicers can only be connected to a single PivotTable when it has grouped fields and is based on an OLAP data source."
Does anyone know a workaround to this issue?
Thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
Basically I need to be able to filter multiple pivot tables that are sourcing OLAP data and using grouped fields based on the date. Eventually this data will be going onto a SharePoint site, so it would be nice if I could filter the date of all of the tables from a single place. As you mentioned slicers will not be able to achieve this, but I am wondering if there are any other functions within excel that could give me the desired result.
