I am just starting to try to use Get and Transform to pull data that I regularly use from the web and to keep those data current. In the past I have just gone to the websites and downloaded xlsx files and copied relevant data into my own Excel data files. I tried to use Get and Transform query for data from the Census Bureau, Housing Permits that are available as an Excel file. When I make the connection I can't get the data in the downloadable Excel files to show in the power query, only "document" info related to the website itself. Can anyone help me understand if I can get these data in downloadable Excel files to appear using Get and Transform queries, and if so, how?

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
