Is it possible to make a list of names and place an auto filter on it and then construct a vlookup function and use the selection in the filter list as the lookup_value? This would make my life so much easier today since it's a short week but not a short workload!!!

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.

Could I suggest putting the data in a pivot table? You could then, in essence, do a vlookup based on several criteria by using GETPIVOTDATA.

Another alternative would be be sort you list into groups, and name them via the name box. You could lookup based on =vlookup(A1,indirect(B1),2,0)
where b1 hold the name of the range you want to look to.

Otherwise, I think you maybe in need of some VBA help. I'm curious as to what your looking up and what reduncy you're eliminating by filtering the list.
