Hi guys!
I'm generating some data in Excel, via Pivot Table.
In some scenarios, with less complicated data, I used to create a table with the same columns generated in the pivot table, copy and paste the data from the pivot table to the table, in order to use it in the data model on Power Pivot. This approach is fine, but involves manual copy and paste.
In other scenarios, I did a query in the Excel Workbook where the pivot table was, querying the sheet containing the pivot table, NOT the table (because there wasn't any), cleaned the garbage and got the data I want.
Now, I'm about to use data generated in 10 pivot tables in a workbook, which I have to merge in one single categorized data set.
That makes me wonder and it doesn't hurt to ask if there is a better way to use the data generated in the pivot table such as adding the pivot table to data model or to a table automatically.
You may wonder where the data from the pivot table comes, and it comes from a cube directly from the Analysis Service connection, and it is generated through a series of complex filtering, that's why I didn't connected to the cube in Power Pivot in the first place.
So, I ask if there is any way to performe this data extraction and adding to data model better that creating 10 queries in 10 sheets containing 10 pivot tables.
Best regards,
