Using checkbox to show Drop down Menu

My very, very first post...I would like to use check boxes to show and activate drop down lists. Can I get some help on the method/coding.

Welcome to MrExcel.

You don't say if you wish to use a form checkbox and dropdown or ActiveX.
I will assume FORM.

If you insert a checkbox and a dropdown and they are named eg Check Box 1 and Drop Down 1
Then copy the following code to a Code Module in the vba editor.
Right click the checkbox and assign the macro.
It will thenshow and hide the dropdown according to the state of the chechbox.

If ActiveSheet.Shapes("Check Box 1").OLEFormat.Object.Value = 1 Then
ActiveSheet.Shapes("Drop Down 1").OLEFormat.Object.Visible = True
Else
ActiveSheet.Shapes("Drop Down 1").OLEFormat.Object.Visible = False
End If
End Sub
