I would like to use the standard ICONs on command buttons, also how to I get access to them?

Thanks

Researching the internet, it appears the icons are stored within an .Exe or .Dll file. As such, they are not something you can click on and view, like looking
at a .jpg or .png image.

Your best resource will be searching Google for "Excel icons" and find a free download site that appeals to you. Downloading the file format of .ico
for the icon images will most likely be best. There are free converters on the internet as well that will convert .jpg / .png / .bmp files to .ico format.

It depends on what you mean by standard icons. If you mean modern ribbon button images (imageMso) then I don't think it is possible unless. You can create them in a dummy toolbar and then take a screenshot of them and process them in memory or into an image file or easier, search the net as suggested by Logit .
If you mean icons from legacy commandbars, you can use the CopyFace Method of the CommandBarControl object and then extract the copied image from the clipboard and convert it to a StdPicture object ... Alternatively, you can use the ExtractIconEx api on the excel module or on the XLICONS.EXE file to extract some excel icons.

Here is something that will give you 'some' of the icons used by Excel .. as well as a treasure trove of others on your computer.

Open File Explorer
Enter .ico in the Search For field, search your C Drive
When search is complete, create a folder on your desktop and name it ICONS
Select all Icon listings in the File Explorer
Right click / drag to new folder
Select "COPY" (DO NOT USE "MOVE" ... it might cause problems with your computer.
You now have a copy of all icons stored/used in your computer.
