I'm just curious what it means. Does it mean active in past 5 minutes? Does it mean the latest page viewed is the topic listing for its list members? Does it know if you were browsing but closed the window ten minutes ago? Just curious.

It displays the handles registered, visible members who are currently browsing the forum in question, or a thread within that forum. :)
 
So I'm going to close this window as soon as I submit this now(31 minutes after the hour). See how long I stay "lit up."
 
Also note, it doesn't always seem to work perfectly, and I'm not sure why... You might have better luck here:

For instance, I can't always see my own handle in the forum that I'm browsing...

Might be a lag to it... :confused:
 
Plus, don't forget that some people have their board status and "hidden" and won't appear in the lists of who is online. Admins can see everyone, though ;)
