I didn't think you could have them?

Maybe it's a version thing.

Whenever I want to do anything a Userform type stuff I just used an unbound Access form.

They're basically the same. No?

no no.
access form is like a sheet, a report.... ...unless you are talkin about an object that is unknown to me...

UserForm is a window! its the winapi object where you can put components that you need...
i need a form with buttons labels and so on :)

or is there any way to get thees $%*$ labels in a toolbar object... ...doh

Goto the Forms tab of access and goto New>Design View.

You should now have a blank form which you can add buttons, labels, etc

Generally these are used for displaying the data in the database but can be used largely in the same way as a Userform.

Look at the Northwind database with it's switchboard thing.

Ok, In my copy of Access 2000 (U.S. distribution) I only have the option to startup with either Forms or Pages (Pages are Data Access Pages). I can not choose a Report.

UserForms is really an Excel Term. In Access, they're called "Forms" and have every bit of the functionality.

The syntax for opening a form is what you posted:

DoCmd.OpenForm

But you can really only use this behind an Event such as a button click.
I'm really wondering if Norie was correct - perhaps the copy of Access 2000 that you use has important differences from mine/ours.

An AutoOpen macro could be created.

I have one that runs other code to add controls to the command bar.
