Use Personal Workbook or Add-Ins to Store Code to Be Used Globally?

Using Excel 2013 & 2016.

I just created an .xlam add-in for the first time today. A UDF user defined function was added to a blank workbook and saved as .xlam file in the Microsoft Add-Ins folder.

If you have many macros that you use globally, that is you use for/on any workbook, is it better to store many modules in the Personal workbook or create many add-in workbooks?

Thank you.

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
It would be the same either way. Both workbooks would open when Excel opens and both have the option of have custom tabs/quick access toolbar. I typically only do an add-in when I have a set of tools that I will give to other users. If I'm using them myself, I just keep them in the personal.xlsb. If I use the macro often, I'll add it to my quick access toolbar, but it's just as easy to add a custom tab and link the macros that way, as well.
