The Unified Soil Classification Scheme (USCS) has a simple flow chart for selecting soil names based on the proportion of gravel sand and fines (silt and clay).
I think I can use the @IF function to build up a nested @IF that will automatically output the correct name based on the three inputs (%gravel, % sand , and %fines)
I am not familier with @IF and dont know how to go about getting it all right.
I can supply the flow chart if anyone is interested

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
I know this post is old but i was wondering if you got this formula figured out? I'm trying to do the same thing. I'm pretty good with the if function. My problem is trying to do a formula for how it plots in relation to the A line.
