I have a spreadsheet with column headings and column A is rank order. The spreadsheet is always in order beginning with 1. How do I reorder the list by cutting and pasting rows and have column A automatically re-rank them? For example if I want to move the person that is ranked 100 up to number 6, how do I move their row of data but have their column A change to #6 and all those below 6 update to their new rank since someone was inserted above them? I can do it in 2-3 steps, but it needs to be done quickly and on the fly so I was wondering if anyone knew how to do it automatically?

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
Assuming you have headers in row 1, put the following formula in column A (in as many cells as your data range requires)
Excel Formula:
=IF(B2<>"",ROW()-1,"")
