Dear all,

Here is what i did:
1. to avoid clutter or bulk files, i created recipes 1 to 20, separately. so i have 20 excel files
2. i created the 21st file which will consolidate the 20 files altogether, that is, using pivot. what i hope to achieve here is, i will make a central ordering system, that will compute how much of each recipe on all of these 20 files.

the only problem is, the pivot table won't update from the 21st file (consolidated) when i enter the orders. it updates itself when i open the excel files, separately.

is there a way that it will update itself without anymore opening all the files i created?

help please.

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying

If you used the method in the link, surely you'd get exactly what you want.
