Updating links issues

I have a spreadsheet that called Jan accounts for example and it links to column a in another spreadsheet called forecast. The following month I copy the Jan accounts spreadsheet into another folder and call it Feb accounts and change the links to column b in the second spreadsheet and all OK. The figures in column a and b in the forecast sheet are different and it updates to the new column.

However if I have the 3 spreadsheets open at the same time the figures in Feb accounts where it links to column b change and I have no idea why. They don't link anywhere else, they don't bring back column a figures some just change. What am I missing?
