I.m running XP and updated my Office a couple of days ago. Ever since I've had to uninstall an Update (KB4462157) each day or it won't load.

From Googling it seems I have to turn off Automatic Updates. Can this be done for Office/Excel or must it be Global for the whole computer.
I don;'t think there are any more XP updates, so would that really matter ?

Thanks for any advice

Get help while writing formula
Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
i would have thought turn off updates, then view available updates, then select and do not offer. that said you are connected to the internet and using XP

Yes I much prefer XP over the later OS's, particularly the size and appearance of Explorer. Not to mention update annoyances, until now.
Hard to know (if selecting which updates to apply later) what they might break? Until it's too late, that is.

Control Panel - Add Remove programs. You should find KBxxx in the list.

Problem fixed!

I did some research and the security updates for MS Office 2010 for Feb 12th 2019 were
KB4462186
KB4018313
KB4462174
KB4462177

After removing them, Excel 2010 works again.

That's good. I found just the one needing removing.
Kind of unbelievable Microsoft would shoot users the foot like this though.
