Can someone show me how I can add a value to the same row in column H but only if the cell in column E is changed from a blank to a value?

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
Exactly what is being placed in column H?

Just text - this will depend on the user but essentially just their initials so 2 letters.

If you are looking for something automatic, then that would require VBA. This would work the same as a Date Stamp (sounds like it is a Name Stamp).
There are tons of threads on this forum which will show you how to do that.
Here is one: https://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel...g-date-time-stamp-when-data-entered-cell.html

My other thought (where I was going originally when I didn't know what you were after), was to use a formula that just checks to see if there is a value in column E, and return some hard-coded value, i.e. put this in cell H1:
=IF(E1<>"","Joe","")
and copy down for other rows.

But I am guessing that may not suffice, and you need the VBA option.
