unwanted inverted commas and xml?

i,m new to Excel and its not my main focus being a flash designer. However i,m using Excel to write xml.

I,ve succeeded in writing simple xml docs however when i cut and paste my ouputted xml column I find there are unwanted inverted commas around. How do I get rid of them?

also, in general, is excel a good way of authoring xml?

any help appreciated
