Unmerge command too large

Hello, I download numerous reports which have merged cells and I have written a macro (in Excel not VBA) which selects the entire sheet and unmerges. However, it often (not always) gives an error saying command too large. The reports are different from each other in column and row quantity so I cannot define a range.

Can anyone help with a good macro that will unmerge cells?

I am using Excel 2010 on Win 7
