Unable to paste data copied from a browser - get a bell sound

Hello,

I'm using one of our (USDA - NRCS) applications that gives a table-like output to my browser. Sometimes there are less than 10,000 records with 11 columns. Many times this output is mostly null fields. But many times the output could be more than 10,000 records. What I do is run the report, then copy the data from the browser and then paste it into an empty Excel worksheet. My problem is that often I will get a bell sound and nothing is pasted into Excel. This could happen with 10,000 records, or 20,000 records, etc. But sometimes the paste will work. There doesn't seem to be any set number of records that trigger the pasting fails / ring the bell. So, I have to go back to the browser tab and highlight fewer rows and copy them and then try the pasting again.

Does anyone know what is triggering the bell sounding and not pasting any of the copied records?

Thanks,

George Teachman
