Aim: To create a calculated item for G and PG as Kids for movies raw data.

A warning is generated and I am unable to insert the Calculated Item.

Please find with the below image.

Hi,

Which one is your calculated field and when the message box is appearing ? Make sure you are not duplicating the field.

In Pivot table when we use calculated fields there are few restrictions -
  • Can't add a calculated item to a page or group field area.
  • Can't create multiple copies of calculated field
Thanks,
Saurabh

Hi Saurabh,

Previously, I received a warning saying Rating is grouped. Whereas rating is actually not grouped(below image)

Pivot2.png

  • The problem was with the Release Data
  • We cannot perform calculated field using G + PG because Rating is related to Time series data.
  • So, dragged “Rating” to filter pane and “Release Date” back to rows.
  • Ungrouped the "Release Date" and again dragged to filter pane and "Rating" to rows pane.
  • Now no column is grouped and tried to enter the Calculated Item.
But it is not working.
It is showing "multiple data fields of the same field are not supported when a pivot table report has calculated items".

Thanks,
Veena

Hi Saurabh,

There is no link provided here where I can attach my excel sheet.
I am a total newbie here, do not know how to send my excel sheet to you.

Awaiting your reply,
Thanks
